Starup - Should we build website in house or outsource?
  • I am thinking about some start up ideas and was about to finalize on one idea. Unfortunately last week I have seen one of similar start-up started recently.
Still their targeted people and my target and the targeted locations are different. So I feel I can still go ahead.
My idea requires a website and totally dependent on the visitors. I can not build website on my own. And I don't want to use any website building tools

Now how can I find a best website design company? How to make sure they will not copy my idea and launch website on their own :) (Because I think an experienced person can build it and launch in a week :) )

Any website building professionals are welcome to comment. In this site user should be able to register and post messages. Later we may need to add payment gateway etc etc
  • Hi PradB

I am a freelance experienced webdesigner. I can help you, Don't get afraid we never copy others ideas.
It's our work  and responsibility to be honest. If you need any details let me know.

    Thanks,

  • @PradB, before asking how to make sure others will not copy, are you sure you have not copied someone else's idea ? Most people think their idea is a very original one and will make billions like facebook but that is almost never the case. If your idea can be executed in 1 week's time, either your idea is junk or you have not worked out the details

Even a paan dukan(shop) or tea stall will take much more time and effort to establish

  • Dear RaksWeb,

My idea is not a copy. As I mentioned above, earlier I was thinking my idea is original, because, after searching a lot, I did not find some thing like that exist. But recently I found almost similar one started. Now I dont want to think as I am copying. As I know Blurp and Zomato are in to similar business. Do we think one copied others idea? Eventhough we initially say its a copy, as they grow, we call it competition and we will be interested in the news about their competition. And the week of time I mentioned is about developing a website and not about establishing a business. Yes to establish it takes lot of time, effort and differentiation. Probably none of the ideas are junk, but values differs. How we execute it, how much we involve in it makes a difference.

Not a debate, just my views
  • If any competent person would be able to build and launch it in a week, then it can also happen after you launch. People would be watching your site as soon as you launch. If you do the product/website well, and it gains eyeballs, then you would have everyone around you knowing about the 'idea'. How would you prevent people from building a replica then?

Building something technically, and actually running the business with the same grit and passion as yourself are two very different things.

I would recommend you do your due diligence in finding a capable and trustworthy developer/partner, but not do it to an extent of paranoia and focus on getting your idea converted into a running prototype / product first.

    All the best.
  • I would definitely say outsource....to many skilled people out there looking for some freelance work...you can get a good bargain and quality as well...I built my own website at a very cheap cost from freelancers...and the end result was satisfactory....I would recommend outsourcing PradB
